2024 season data · Source: API-Football

Key takeaways

  • Covers every club across J1, J2, and J3 (60 clubs total), with appearances, starts, minutes, goals, assists, and disciplinary data drawn from the 2024 season.
  • All rate stats are shown per-90, and any player under 900 minutes is flagged as a small sample — treat those numbers as descriptive, not predictive.
  • This is a reference database, not a shortlist: it doesn't rank or recommend players. Scouting judgments live in the dedicated Hidden Gems and scouting report pages.

What this database covers

Far Post Analytics maintains a per-player record for every squad member across the three J.League divisions — J1, J2 and J3, sixty clubs in total. Each profile carries appearances, starts, minutes, goals, assists and disciplinary record, plus the per-90 rates we derive from those totals.

The underlying dataset is the 2024 J.League season, supplied by API-Football, league matches only. Cup and continental fixtures are excluded. Ages shown are as of data collection, not as of today's date. This vintage matters: a player who moved clubs, broke into a starting eleven, or lost a season to injury after 2024 will not have that reflected here. Where our published scouting reports cite 2025 or 2026 figures, those come from Football LAB and J.League official records and are sourced separately within each report.

How to read the per-90 numbers

Per-90 rates are our own calculations, not vendor-supplied. They are simply the raw total divided by minutes played, multiplied by ninety. That arithmetic is honest but it is not evidence on its own — it becomes less reliable the fewer minutes it is built on.

Our working threshold is 900 minutes, roughly ten full matches. Below that, a per-90 figure is a description of a small sample rather than a measurement of a player. A substitute striker with three goals in 400 minutes will out-rate a starter with twelve in 2,800, and the first number will be close to meaningless. Read minutes first, rates second.

We also do not apply a league-strength adjustment inside this database. A J2 per-90 figure and a J1 per-90 figure appear on the same scale here even though they are not earned against the same opposition. Any comparison against a European league requires a correction we do not attempt at the database level; where it matters, we address it explicitly in the individual reports.

What this page is not

This is an index, not a recommendation list. Inclusion carries no judgement. We do not rank players here, we do not represent any player, and we hold no commercial relationship with clubs or intermediaries.

Practitioner-facing analysis lives in our scouting reports and insight pieces, where a player is examined against sample size, role fit, contract situation and the transfer precedents that apply to his profile. The database exists to answer "what are the raw numbers" — the reports exist to answer "does this mean anything." If you are scouting rather than browsing, start with the reports and come back here for the underlying counts.

Frequently asked questions

How is per-90 calculated on this page?

Per-90 = (raw stat ÷ minutes played) × 90, calculated in-house from underlying appearance data — not pulled pre-computed from a provider.

Why do some players show a "small sample" warning?

Any player under 900 minutes (roughly 10 full matches) in the 2024 season gets this flag, because per-90 rates swing wildly on small minute counts and can mislead more than inform.

Can I compare a J-League player's numbers directly to a Bundesliga or Premier League player?

Not directly. League difficulty differs enough that a raw per-90 comparison across competitions of very different quality is misleading; Far Post Analytics does not present J-League figures as equivalent to Europe's top five leagues without an explicit adjustment.

How current is this data?

The database reflects the 2024 J.League season. Where a stat isn't available, it's marked as no data rather than estimated.

Caveats and limitations

  • League-level competition only; cup matches are not reflected in these totals.
  • No injury history, personality, or off-pitch data is included — this is a statistical view only.
  • Small-sample players (under 900 minutes) are flagged, not excluded, so read their rows with extra caution.
  • Data vintage: 2024 J.League season, sourced via API-Football.

Sources and disclosure

  • Player statistics are sourced from API-Football for the 2024 J.League season (J1/J2/J3). Per-90 figures are calculated by Far Post Analytics from raw totals; they are not official league figures. This page is a reference tool, not investment, transfer, or betting advice.
